Abstract Aiming at the demand for the real-time acquisition and processing of lightning electromagnetic field signals, considering the basic principles and characteristics of lifting wavelet basis transformation, a noise reduction method of lighting electric field signals based on lifting wavelet transformation is proposed. Then, an improved threshold method is used for this denoising method and the denoising effects and the complexity of the algorithm are simulated by using the C language. Compared with traditional wavelet transformation, this method can deal with noise better for original lightning electric field signals, which can provide a better way for the lightning electric field signal acquisition and processing of embedded platforms based on ARM member.
