Abstract According to the statistical and applicational problems of ground observation data in meteorological services, the data processing system of automatic weather station is developed by using Visual Basic and SQL Server 2000.This system can automatically extract the data from the observation data of automatic weather station at the fixed time, and put the data into the database.The user is able to acquire real-time or historical related meteorological data through the database, which can also realize the statistical function for meteorological elements such as the temperature, the dew point temperature, the relative humidity, the pressure, the wind direction, the wind speed and the precipitation etc.
