Abstract The ball charger takes the task of filling weather balloon on the surface,which is one of the essential tools for high-altitude meteorological observation.When filling different type of balloons,different weights need to be taken in order to meet the requirement of speed up in meteorological sounding.Based on the current scarcity during the operation,a new type of ball charger is developed.From March to June in 2014,the Xilinhot and Yangjiang upper-air station in Mongolia were selected to test,which represented the north and south area.The test shows that the new ball charger has the features of good applicability,practicality and safety with broad business prospects.
