Abstract Weifang meteorological bureau has set up 166 automatic weather stations of various types,which transmit their observation data to provincial meteorological bureau while storing it into the local database. Software of center station only makes judgment on the simple extreme of the data and file formats without other quality control methods. However,the observation data of the local database has played a more and more important role in short-term,adjacent and small-and-medium-scale forecast and data statistical analysis. Besides,it also constrained greatly by its timeliness,authenticity and consistency. This paper mainly studies the development of quality control and monitoring system for the materials of local automatic stations in Weifang.
