Abstract Aiming at the problem of lacking special inspection instrument in automatic weather station's maintenance work,the technical personnel develops a field state inspection instrument for automatic weather station with features of simple operation,functional utility,strong extension and easy to carry. This paper introduces the design principle,system structure,main function and method of the inspection system. The instrument sample was on trial at the base station,which was widely praised. At the same time,the improvement suggestions are put forward. By using the inspection instrument,the technical personnel can carry out comprehensive inspection for the whole operation state of automatic weather station in the field. Moreover,it can instruct the technical personnel to quickly find the malfunction of automatic station,correctly judge the fault location and improve the efficiency of maintenance.
