Abstract A new generation weather radar is one of the primary means of atmospheric sounding,which has an extremely important role in the small-scale severe weather monitoring,short-term weather forecast and other aspects of approaching. The radar failures will greatly affect radar business applications. Taking the example of an actual failure for transmission system of new generation weather radar (CINRAD/CD) in Chaoyang,by analyzing and processing the phenomenon of air cooling failure,partial magnetic fault and low power transmitter,this paper summarizes the possible causes and repair methods for such transmission system symptom,providing references for quick troubleshooting and improve the ability of radar maintenance.
