Abstract Using the rainfall data and GPS / Met water vapor data of Jiangxi,the characteristics of GPS / Met water vapor inversion products were comparative analyzed in the four processes of typhoon in Jiangxi province.The results show that there is a correspondence between PWV and live precipitation during typhoon rainstorm.The PWV raises before precipitation starts and the PWV drops obviously before precipitation ends.But the advance time is different.By the seasonal factors,the continuous rise or continued descent may indicate the beginning,enhancement,or the end of precipitation.Heavy rainfall is basically in the PWV near the highest value.The PWV continued to decline and accompanied by significant reductions in precipitation,suggesting that precipitation is coming to an end.
