Analysis and calibration method of measuring error for weather radar transmitter power

Abstract  It can be seen from the meteorological radar equation that the peak power of transmitter is directly related to the radar constant C0,which affects the measurement of radar echo reflectance.This paper analyzes the main reasons affecting the measurement error of transmitter peak power.The error factors of transmitting power measurement are calibrated and tested by using spectrum analyzer,external signal source,external power meter,radio frequency analyzer and other related instruments.A method to reduce systematic error and random error is proposed.The measurement accuracy of pulse radar peak power is improved and the calibration result of weather radar echo intensity is corrected.
