Abstract The sunshine observation equipment used in Jiangsu meteorological station is a dark tube (Jordan type) sunshine meter,with low automation and poor accuracy.The DFC1 photoelectric digital sunshine meter has been set up in 2019.This paper evaluates the quality of 70 different stations in the province from October to December in 2019.The quality of the data from two different solar meters is compared and analyzed from the aspects of data integrity,accuracy,and differences in manual observations,which could provide an important basis for automatic observation of sunshine hours in the province.
