Abstract Based on the structural design and installation characteristics of X-band dual polarization phased array weather radar,lightning protection design is carried out in this paper.On the basis of summing up the practical experience of lightning protection for weather detection equipment,especially the new generation weather radar and wind profile radar,the design and application of X-band dual-polarization phased array weather radar for lightning protection are presented according to the relevant national lightning protection specifications.The design methods are tested and validated by the practical application.
