Abstract This paper utilizes high performance instruments to carry out the testing and calibration tests for the differential reflectivity of CINRAD/SA dual polarization radar,and uses solar methods,software reading method,light rain zenith calibration method,metal sphere calibration method and other technologies to evaluate the consistency of 2 channels and the system error of differential reflectivity.Besides,the advantages and disadvantages of various methods are compared and the measuring results and the application of differential reflectivity in actual rainfall and hail processes are analyzed in this paper.It is concluded that better effect can be realized when used in combination with other dual polarization products.
