Abstract:Based on the radar network jigsaw products and surface precipitation products independently developed by the meteorological observation centre of CMA,the abnormal characteristics of precipitation extremes in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in the flood season of 2020 are analyzed by using radar climatology analysis method.The results show that the continuous heavy rainfall in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River presents several characteristics.First,the development of precipitation echo has obvious stages.Second,the echo rain band maintains less movement.Third,the local intensity of precipitation echo is too large,which led to more overlapping rainfall areas,large cumulative rainfall,strong extreme precipitation,and repeated disaster in some areas.
