Abstract:Based on daily data from 11 national meteorological stations in Yantai City from 1971 to 2020,and using the snowfall classification standards of the China Meteorological Administration, the article systematically analyzed the spatiotemporal variation characteristics of different snowfall levels in Yantai during winter using linear trend analysis,MannKendall test(α=0.05),and inverse distance weighted interpolation(IDW).The results show that the snowfall classification structure is dominated by light snow, with blizzards accounting for the lowest proportion. From 1971 to 2020,total snowfall incraeased, with the combined contribution of heavy snow and blizzards increasind.A climate abrupt change occurred in total snowfall in 1988,but no abrupt changes occurred in any of the snowfall levels.Spatially, the distribution pattern shows high values along the eastern coast and low values in the southern inland areas. The highvalue areas of blizzards highly coincide with the path of the northwest cold air mass and the effect of orographic lifting in winter. This study can provide a scientific basis for risk assessment of extreme snowfall disasters and the construction of disaster prevention systems in coastal cities.
