Abstract:In order to monitor and warn of the occurrence of extreme short-term heavy rainfall and reduce the disasters caused by extreme short-term heavy rainfall, precipitation data, weather maps, radar puzzles, radar PUP products and technical analysis methods were used to analyze the extreme short-term heavy rainfall events at Gangbian in Leping from 20:00 on August 27,2023 to 20:00 on August 28,2023.The results show that the heavy rainfall is caused by mesoscale rain bands from Fengcheng,Nanchang to Jingdezhen in a northeast southwest direction. The 24-hour rainfall at the center of Gangbian in Leping reached 195.8 mm,with a maximum hourly rainfall intensity of 102.8 mm,which is the highest precipitation in the Jingdezhen area in 2023.The heavy precipitation is closely related to lightning, and lightning is most concentrated during the strongest precipitation period. The heavy precipitation is related to the strong subtropical high pressure obstruction, which hinders the eastward movement of echoes and causes slow movement.Cold and warm air confront and intersect for a long time, leading to extreme heavy precipitation due to forward leaning troughs,low-level convergence,high-level divergence, and abundant water vapor supply. The heavy precipitation is caused by a large range of 35-45 dBZ echoes accompanied by a small amount of 45-50 dBZ flocculent strong echoes.During this period, the echoes remain stable with little movement and merge. On a single radar, they exhibit medium intensity, vertical columnar structure, low center of mass, and velocity convergence. These conclusions provide a reference for the near prediction of extreme short-term heavy rainfall.
