Abstract:In order to better understand the impact of the heat island effect on weather in Nanchang City, temperature data and radar mosaic data from meteorological observation stations in Nanchang City from 2013 to 2019 were used to analyze the heat island effect in Nanchang City. The results showed that the average maximum temperature in urban areas is 23 ℃ in spring,33 ℃ in summer,24 ℃ in autumn, and 14 ℃ in winter. The average minimum temperature in urban areas is 15 ℃ in spring,26 ℃ in summer,18 ℃ in autumn, and 7 ℃ in winter. The overall temperature in the urban and suburban areas of Nanchang City is increasing year by year, and the average temperature changes in the urban and suburban areas are relatively consistent. The area of Nanchang City with a temperature greater than 18.5 ℃ has significantly expanded. The average temperature, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, precipitation, precipitation days, sunshine and meteorological elements in Nanchang have a high correlation with the intensity of the heat island(61.6%),while the rainstorm, snow, thunder and lightning, high temperature, strong wind, cold wave, heavy fog days and heat island intensitv is 91.3%.The reasons for the impact of urban heat island effect on cities include different surface properties between urban and suburban areas, higher anthropogenic heat emissions in urban areas compared to suburban areas, and higher concentration of air pollutants in urban areas.Due to the heat island effect, the temperature in urban areas is relatively high and the temperature in suburban areas is relatively low.The convergence of air flow between urban and suburban areas can easily trigger convective upward movement and produce hot thunderstorms. The research results provide technical ideas for the in-depth study of the urban heat island effect in Nanchang city.
