Abstract:Based on daily precipitation, snow depth and temperature data of 18 meteorological stations in Southeast Shandong Province from 1961 to 2020,the climatic characteristics of extreme snowfall events were analyzed by using climate tendency, accumulative anomaly, signal noise ratio and Morlet wavelet analysis method. The results showed that the spatial distribution of extreme snow cover days, extreme snowfall days and extreme snowfall in north area were more than that in south area, while maximum snow cover depth, extreme snowfall intensity in south area were more than that in north area in Southeastern Shandong Province. The extreme snowfall events were decreasing during recent 60 years. The daily average temperature in winter half year increased significantly and days with daily maximum temperature below 2 ℃ decreased significantly. The analysis results can provide for responding to and mitlgating the adverse impacts of extreme events.
