Abstract:Currently,noise sampling of weather radar is done between volume scans and used for the next scan.However,due to radar's internal and external environmental change,noise based volume cannot reflect the variation of noise power in the process of volume scan.This paper proposes a noise estimation method which calculates noise power of each radial in real time.Examples prove that the method can estimate noise power for each radial which captures the changes of system environment.The method can improve radar sensitivity when radial noise is lower than volume-based noise.Furthermore,radial-based noise can identify interference signal and eliminate radial interference effectively.
