Abstract:To solve the problems of few direct radiation stations, low spatial resolution and unsatisfying data application in surface radiation observation in China, the technical feasibility study of direct radiation measurement using photoelectric sunshine duration recorder in national surface meteorological observation service is explored. In this paper, the DFC1,DFC2 and DFC3 photoelectric sunshine duration recorder used in meteorological observation service are selected to carry out comparison observation with the pyrheliometer.Statistical methods are used to analyze the mean deviation, root mean square error, correlation coefficient and linearity between the direct radiation collections measured with the photoelectric sunshine duration recorders and pyrheliometer under different weather conditions such as cloudy, less cloudy and sunny. The results show that the direct radiation measured by DFC1 photoelectric sunshine duration recorder is only slightly higher than that measured with pyrheliometer, while the direct radiation measured by DFC2 and DFC3 photoelectric sunshine duration recorder is close to that measured with pyrheliometer only around sunrise and sunset, and is significantly lower than that measured with pyrheliometer at other times. It shows that the direct radiation measurement based on photoelectric sunshine recorder will significantly increase the number of direct radiation observation stations, which is of great value to greatly improve the representativeness and application efficiency of direct radiation data measurement in China.
