Abstract:Based on the daily temperature data from 1956 to 2005,the spatial and temporal characteristics and the interdecadal characteristics of extreme temperature in China are analyzed by using EOF and other statistical methods. The results showed that the extreme temperature in China showed an increasing trend from 1956 to 2005,especially in 1986—2005.The warming trend was about three times that of 1956—2005.There are seasonal differences in the warming trend of extreme temperature, with the strongest warming trend in autumn and the weakest in summer for extreme high-temperature,and the strongest warming trend in winter and the weakest in summer for extreme low temperature. The regional difference of warming trend of extreme temperature from 1986 to 2005 was more prominent, and the warming trend in Hetao area,Northeast China and Yangtze River Basin was significant. The regional characteristics of extreme temperature change have certain regularity with the change of years.
