Abstract  Based on WebGIS Doppler radar puzzle products, lightning monitoring date in Jiangxi and synoptic situation as the background information,a torrential-rain and strong thunder processes occurred on June 18-19,2016 in the north of Jiangxi was analyzed in detail. The analysis indicates that the months from June to September are the height of the flash in Jiangxi. The monthly distribution of ground lightning is characterized by unimodal. The distribution of ground lightning is consistent with the development law of the strong convective weather system in Jiangxi. The lightning distribution has a good correspondence with the distribution of radar echo intensity and lightning disaster.According to the characteristics of ground lightning distribution, the appropriate lightning protection measures can be put forward.
