Abstract Based on the surface meteorological observation data and sounding data,this paper analyzes the characteristics and influencing factors of snowfall in Yinzhou district of Ningbo city from 1953 to 2016.The definition of snowfall year and convective effective potential energy is firstly introduced by using IGRA sounding data.Then,the diurnal variation of snowfall and the relationship between snowfall and precipitation and temperature are analyzed.The meteorological elements before and after snowfall are compared.Finally,the results are given to provide reference for understanding the common weather situation in Yinzhou district.
