Analysis of three typical hail weather characteristics in Southeast Yunnan |

Abstract The article combines three hail weather processes in southeast Yunnan and analyzes the echo characteristics of hail clouds during weather processes using products such as vertically integrated liquid water,hail index,vertical reflectance profile,and cloud top height.Analysis found that during the development stage of hail,there is a strong convergence of velocity in the velocity field,and there are typical hail echo characteristics such as atypical hook shaped echoes,V- notch echoes,three body scattering,hanging echoes,and gas vortex during the hail process.After inspection,it has been found that there are differences in the effectiveness of various radar products in observing hail clouds during different processes.The comprehensive use of radar products is of great significance for accurate hail warning.
