Abstract The article uses sunshine data from seven national benchmark climate stations in Hotan region and radiation data from one station from 1991 to 2022.Linear propensity score method,M-K test method,and evaluation of solar energy resources are used to analyze the distribution characteristics,stability,and development potential of solar energy resources in Hotan region.The results showed that the solar energy resources in Hotan area exhibited a cyclical oscillation from 1991 to 2022,with the summer being the most abundant and the winter being the least.The spatial distribution showed a pattern of more in the northeast than in the southwest.The Hotan region has abundant solar energy resources with high utilization value,but there is a certain spatial heterogeneity in the distribution of resources,and the development of solar energy resources needs to be tailored to local conditions.
