Abstract The article provides a detailed introduction to the design principle of the GZ-FL series of new surge protectors.The surge protector underwent a six-month off-site test at the Wuwei Observation Station in Nanning.From the analysis of data integrity and accuracy,it was found that the surge protector did not affect the meteorological element data collected by the national ground meteorological observation station equipment.The data from the main and backup stations were highly correlated,with correlation coefficients above 0.9,indicating that the surge protector can effectively protect against induced lightning and ground potential counterattacks after being connected to the national ground meteorological observation station equipment.
