| Analysis of a hail weather process in the midsummer of northeast Fujian |

Abstract The article conducts a diagnostic analysis of a hail weather process that occurred in northeast Fujian on July 10,2023,utilizing multi-source observational data such as ground observations,conventional weather maps,radiosonde data,and Doppler radar.The results indicate that this process was a typical subtropical high-pressure hail weather situation triggered by a ground convergence line.The favorable radiosonde stratification conditions were conducive to the occurrence of this severe convective weather,and the higher height of the -20 ℃ layer was the main reason for the smaller hail size.The high extension height of strong echoes,hanging structure of echoes,and wind field with low-level convergence and high-level divergence were conducive to the growth of hail embryos.Changes in the polarization parameters of dual-polarization radar can reflect changes in precipitation phase states.In the strong echo region,ZDR,CC,and KDP at low elevation angles decreased to -2 to 2 dB,0.85 to 0.95,and below 1°/km,respectively,indicating that precipitation was accompanied by hail with small diameters,consistent with ground observation results.
