Research of top cloud macroscopic characteristics based on CloudSat cloud classification products |

Abstract This paper statistical analyzes the occurrence frequency of global top-level cloud type,cloud height and cloud thickness respectively by using CloudSat 2B-CLDCLASS-LIDAR data.The global distribution of the upper layer cloud is analyzed from the aspects of latitude,sea and land.The frequency,cloud height and average thickness as well as cloud height difference caused by seasonal variation are also analyzed.At last,the cloud type obtained by geostationary satellite FY-2D and CloudSat top cloud classification are made a contrast analysis.The results show that there is good consistency in cirrus clouds between the two.
