Assimilation experiment of AMSR2 microwave imaging data and its influence on typhoon forecasting |

Abstract Based on the WRF-ARW and WRFDA 3.8 version,this paper directly assimilates AMSR2 (Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2) satellite microwave imaging data in HDF5 format,uses AMSR2 data during July 2014 from 15th to 31st to do the quality control and bias correction tests and focuses on the analysis of the application effect of the bias correction coefficient.Selecting typhoon Rammasun (No.9 in 2014) as the research subject,the effect of assimilating AMSR2 data on path and strength forecasting is verified.The results show that it improves the effect of AMSR2 microwave imaging data on typhoon path and intensity forecast.
