Influence of strong convective weather on high altitude meteorological observation and its countermeasures |

Abstract By taking an example of using weather radar,gale releasing balloon device and other auxiliary equipment in the daily operation of Qingyuan station,the influence of strong convective weather on the sounding work is effectively reduced.Then,the echo intensity map of weather radar and the echo moving speed and the moving direction are obtained.Combined with the wind direction and speed on the station,the weather at the observation point is predicted.The net lifting force required for the balloon's ascent and the timing of the balloon's release are estimated,which can effectively reduce the adverse effects of strong convection weather and improve the quality of high-altitude meteorological detection.
