Abstract Through the analysis and application of general equipotential,equipotential connection and local equipotential ring,the importance of equipotential connection to the design of building itself,metal pipes,electronic distribution system,information system and personal safety is further elaborated.It is an important measure that must be grasped and applied correctly in lightning protection design and construction.
