Abstract  Based on the M-P distribution of raindrop spectrum, the vertical liquid water content is calculated.Radar detection has the actual situation that the vertical resolution is insufficient. The beam filling vertical area is used for linear interpolation method to estimate the reflectance intensity value. The 3D discretization data accumulation after interpolation process obtains the space VIL calculation, realizing the true color display of the VIL product with 1km×1km resolution based on the matlab program design.Combined with the VIL algorithm, the cause of the calculation error is analyzed.Combined with an example of a strong weather process on April 9,2013 in Yongzhou, the algorithm has a good application effect through verification analysis.
