Abstract This paper mainly studies the characteristics of satellite images,radar echoes and numerical forecasts of short-term heavy precipitation in Yifeng county of Jiangxi province.Using Jiangxi automatic weather station data,MICAPS system cloud picture,Jiangxi WebGIS radar jigsaw puzzle and Wuhan numerical forecast products,the characteristics of short-term heavy precipitation during four rainstorms and heavy rainstorms in Yifeng from 2017 to 2019 were analyzed by means of statistical analysis,morphological comparison,feature extraction and similarity comparison.The results lay a foundation for improving the early warning and forecasting ability of short-term heavy rainfall and developing meteorological service in Yifeng county.
