Abstract This paper designs a wind direction data visualization system of automatic weather station based on Python.The system mainly uses the excellent data visualization ability of Python.Firstly,the wind direction data of the detected weather station is called from the National Integrated Meteorological Information Service System (CIMISS).Then,the wind direction data is statistically analyzed and made into a variety of visual images such as pole scatter plot,wind direction statistics and daily distribution of wind direction data,which could assist the meteorological station personnel to judge the working state of the wind direction sensor,analyze the wind direction data in depth and further provide reference for the maintenance of the wind direction sensor.
