Abstract  In order to do finely rainfall forecast and early weather warning,this paper takes the sports center of new area in Zhaoqing as an example,based on the hourly precipitation from automatic weather station during the period of 2009 to 2021,researching its annual,monthly,daily variation of rainfall characteristics.According to the duration of rainfall,the rainfall types are divided into short duration rainfall,medium duration rainfall and long duration rainfall,and the characteristics of different duration rainfall are studied.In the field meteorological service,short-duration heavy rain often has a great impact on the activity site.This paper studies the rainfall characteristics of short-duration heavy rain events (≥10 mm) based on the radar combined reflectivity puzzle in Guangdong province from 2018 to 2021.
