Abstract  Taking Guangdong area as an example, this paper firstly introduces the composition and working principle of ground meteorological observation field. Then according to the specific conditions of the observation field, based on the lightning protection standards and the lightning protection experience in Guangdong area, combined with the possible ways of lightning damage observation equipment, the lightning protection measures are introduced from the aspects of ground network, power supply, communication, shielding and integrated wiring, equipotential and grounding. Finally, the detection points of the corresponding observation field lightning protection device are given for the protection measures.
