Abstract Abstract:By using NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data, conventional observation data and WRF model, the vapor transport of a heavy rainfall event was simulated and analyzed which occurred in Jiangxi Province on 6th of June, 2010. The results show that the vapor source related to the heavy rainfall comes from the South China Sea and Bengal Bay via India- China peninsula. The heavy rainfall region located in the left of the water vapor band and closed to the vicinity of the wind shear line. This event consists of two heavy rainfall processes: the first one occurred in the north of Jiangxi province which caused by the northern moving of the mesoscale system located in the border of the southern Fujian and the south of Jiangxi Province; the another one caused by the mesoscale convective system located in the Hunan Province. According to the simulated result of WRF, it shows that the heavy rainfall often occurred in the maximum gradient of water flux and the entire water vapor transportation band presented the distribution from southwest to northeast.
