Abstract In order to understand the relationship between lightning and temperature and humidity,this paper analyzes the correlation between lightning frequency and intensity characteristics and temperature and humidity on different time scales in 10 typical cities in different regions by using statistical and correlation analysis methods based on the data of lightning,temperature and humidity in Sichuan during April and October from 2008 to 2020.It is concluded that lightning frequency is positively correlated with temperature and humidity.The research results can improve the understanding of the law of lightning activity and provide a theoretical reference for lightning warning and forecasting.
