Abstract:In order to deeply analyze the causes and characteristics of the significant squall line weather in Jiangxi on April 2,2022,this article mainly uses observation data from Jiangxi Provincial Meteorological Station,MICAPS conventional weather data,sounding maps,Jiangxi WebGIS radar echoes and other data to summarize the weather system,water vapor,heat,dynamics and other conditions of severe convective weather,as well as the radar echo characteristics of different severe convective weather such as hail,thunderstorm winds,and short-term heavy precipitation.The results indicate that the high altitude divergence at 200 hPa,the continuous eastward movement of the 500 hPa trough,the water vapor and unstable conditions supplied by the strong southwest jet stream on the shear south side,and the development of the cold air front trough on the ground have led to an increase in temperature and humidity.The strong weather background in Jiangxi,where cold air flows southward,provides the driving force,heat,and water vapor conditions for the formation of severe convective weather.The sounding structure indicates that this severe weather event has significant characteristics of the occurrence and development of multiple types of severe convective weather such as thunderstorms,strong winds,hail,and heavy precipitation.Compared with similar historical cases,the intensity of the southwest jet stream,wind vertical shear,K index,etc.have certain extremes;The strongest short-term heavy rainfall,thunderstorm gusts,and hail in this round of severe convective weather were all caused by supercells or micro supercells carried by squall line echo bands.On the echo band of the squall line,there are constantly strong convective cells moving from west to east,some of which develop into supercells.When passing through a certain area,they cause extreme short-term heavy precipitation.Super cells can cause hail while also experiencing thunderstorms and strong winds close to level 12,as well as short-term heavy rainfall of ≥70 mm/h.The research results provide typical cases and reference basis for the early warning and forecasting of squall line weather processes in Jiangxi.
