Abstract:In order to effectively monitor and warn of thunderstorms and strong winds in Tonggu, meteorological data from Tonggu National Station and data from Jiangxi WebGIS radar mosaic were used to analyze the echo characteristics of six thunderstorms and strong winds in Tonggu using radar meteorology principles and analysis methods. The results indicate that there were 6 thunderstorm gusts (wind speeds ≥17.2 m/s) in the Tonggu area from 2013 to 2024.These strong weather events are often accompanied by weather systems such as 500 hPa trough,850 hPa shear, southwest jet stream, and 925 hPa ultra-low altitude jet stream.Thunderstorms and strong winds in Tonggu area can be classified into four types of echoes:multiple cells, squall line echo bands (peripheral squall lines of typhoons),super cells, and composite cells. The research results provide an analytical basis for monitoring and warning thunderstorm and strong wind weather in Tonggu area.
