Analysis on the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics and causes of short-term heavy rainfall in Huangpu,Guangzhou from 2011 to 2021

Abstract:Based on the hourly precipitation data of 37 automatic weather stations in Huangpu District of Guangzhou from 2011 to 2021,this paper studies the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of short-term heavy precipitation in this area.This paper analyzes the spatial distribution and causes of short-term heavy rainfall,and analyzes the characteristics and causes of annual,monthly and daily changes of short-term heavy rainfall.It is concluded that the frequency of short-term heavy precipitation in the central part of the region is high,and the frequency of short-term heavy precipitation in the north and south is low.The May,June and August are frequent periods of short-term heavy precipitation every year.The diurnal variation of the pre-flood season is unimodal distribution,and the diurnal variation of the post-flood season is bimodal distribution.The conclusions are expected to provide an effective reference for the analysis of short-term heavy rainfall characteristics.
