Abstract:In order to study the relationship between thunderstorm activity and atmospheric temperature and humidity characteristics,ERA5 reanalysis data was used to analyze a thunderstorm process that occurred in Ji'an on March 30-31,2024.The results showed that the thunderstorm process was triggered under a complex weather situation where the southern trough moved eastward and interacted with low-level shear lines. The significant enhancement of the low-level southwest jet stream and strong vertical wind shear provided favorable environmental conditions for the generation and development of thunderstorms. The vertical distribution of temperature during thunderstorms is relatively stable, and the vertical gradient of relative humidity shows a closer correlation with the development of thunderstorms. The effective potential energy of convection has limited indicative effect on predicting thunderstorm activity at night. The SI index and K index have a good correspondence with the occurrence and development of thunderstorms. The SI index can drop below -2.0 before thunderstorms occur, while the K index can climb to 38.The atmospheric electric field instrument in Ji'an City has a high warning accuracy (hit rate of 79.1%) in lightning warning, but also a high false alarm rate (missed rate of 20.9%,false alarm rate of 48.1%),with a TS score of 0.456.In practical applications,it is necessary to further optimize the warning strategy based on radar echo data to improve the accuracy and efficiency of warning.
